Hong Kong Bans CBD. Life In Prison For Selling.
After new legislation starting in 2023, CBD will be scheduled as a dangerous drug in Hong Kong.
Authorities will implement the ban on the manufacture, import, export, supply, sale, possession, and transshipment of CBD, except for prescribed CBD products used for medical purposes or having a license issued by the Department of Health.
The ban on CBD follows Hong Kong's zero-tolerance policy on THC products.
Possession of a dangerous drug is punishable by imprisonment for up to seven years and a HK$1 million (about $127,000) fine, while trafficking (selling) would pay a fine of HK$5,000,000 (about $637,000) and life imprisonment.
