Not all CBD is equal for bird heart health

Not all CBD is equal for bird heart health - Hemp Well

Maybe you already have some CBD oil for yourself and maybe you are already giving that to your bird. Did you know that not all products are the same and it could impact your birds heart health.

Cardiovascular disease is a top killer for birds. And, the majority of the CBD products in the market (people and pet) make use of MCT (or coconut) oils as a filler or carrier for the CBD. Manufacturers of CBD products use these fillers because they are cheap, adding them adds to their bottom lines.

Hemp Well is Just Hemp. We never separate nature in our oils. Why would we? Hempseed oil versus Coconut oil delivers the ideal ratio of fatty acids. Coconut is high in saturated fat while hempseed oil delivers mainly polyunsaturated fat.

This should be very important to bird parents and their little hearts.

While no studies have been conducted in birds we can rely on information about human studies comparing saturated fat versus unsaturated fats.

In 2017 the American Heart Association looked at evidence on which fats in foods contribute to cardiovascular disease (CVD). The experts’ stated, “We conclude strongly that lowering intake of saturated fat and replacing it with unsaturated fats, especially polyunsaturated fats, will lower the incidence of CVD.”
