Countries with the most pet birds – interesting trends revealed
Birds make popular household pets around the world. In some countries, they are even more popular than dogs and cats. Brazil, for example, has more pet birds than any other country. 1 in every 3 households in Brazil has a pet bird. In fact, there are more than an estimated 60 million pet birds in the the Americas. This is more than the number of pet dogs.
How Many Pet Birds by Country
According to a recent study, Brazil has the highest number of pet birds with around 20 million. This is followed by Italy with 14 million, and then the United States with 9 million. Surprisingly, France has the fourth highest number of pet birds with around 6 million, which is more than any other European country.
Bird ownership is growing fastest in the United States. This could be the influence of the large percentage of Latin Americans migrating to America and bringing their culture of bird family with them.
These findings are interesting as they reveal some surprising trends. For example, while the United States has a high number of pet birds, Brazil has a much higher percentage of households that own pet birds (around 29% compared to just 8% in the United States). China also has a high number of pet birds, but this is largely due to the fact that it has a population of over 1.3 billion people

Because the bird market is a sliver of a sliver compared to the dog and cat markets, actual, expensive scientific research concerning birds and hemp is not likely to appear anytime soon. So, the thought is, why not use the next best thing to that expensive, scientific research – personal observations! BirdHemp.org
