Can my Dog Overdose on CBD?
CBD or cannabidiol for dogs is becoming extremely popular. While us humans find the benefits of CBD useful for us, we want to share it with our best friends; dogs, cats, horses, birds and llamas, too. Can my dog, cat or bird overdose on CBD?
Pets cannot overdose from CBD. Additional CBD consumed that is not absorbed into the bloodstream will be excreted through the urine. Hemp Well products use organic materials. If over-consumed (left open on the counter) your pet may experience runny stool. We have reported adverse events through the FDA since 2017 without a single 'adverse event' occurrence.
WARNING: The above statements do not hold true for all hemp products. Our products undergo testing and certification, plus we put our name and reputation on the line everyday. Some brands live anonymously online only. You should always trust the ingredients in your hemp CBD bottle or chew. Some manufacturers in the market use unknown fillers, and, their hemp extracts are often untested and may contain metals and/or other materials.
Dogs have far more cannabinoid receptors than us, so a little goes a long way. Giving your dog too much CBD can be a waste of money but it may not harm your dog in any way. As with any supplement, it is recommended to talk to a vet before administering products like Hemp Well.
