Cats

Best CBD oil for cats

Cats are no different than us, our dogs, horses, elephants. All mammals have an endocannabinoid system. All of our bodies need cannabinoids. CBD or cannabidiol can benefit our cats, too. So what is the best CBD oil for cats?

Maybe we are bias. Our company was founded by chance after the owners wanted to find natural alternatives for the health of their family’s cat, Ginger. Today Hemp Well supports all furry and feathered friends. Our hemp has and always will be organic, USA grown and without cheap filler oils like MCT, coconut and sunflower seeds. Hemp Well keeps nature together.

Many CBD oil products tout the benefits of terpenes found in the hemp plant. Our products formulate for cats and dogs are absent terpenes because the risks outweigh any benefit.

Additionally, all of our products are void of THC, the psychoactive part of the cannabis plant that can get us or our pets stoned.

How to give your pet hemp oil [VIDEO]

Giving your dog, cat, bird or horse is simple. Just watch Heidi enjoy her Hemp Omegas oil and give your pet organic hemp oil, too.

Purina wants to feed your pet insects, why they should be using hemp

“The insect protein comes from black soldier fly larvae, which are already in use in animal feed in Europe,” Purina wrote in a recent press release. “The millet and fava beans provide protein, energy, and fiber to aid digestion. All the ingredients are steamed to maintain nutrient quality.”

Insects can provide more protein than beef and lamb. Insects can provide all 20 amino acids and other benefits to support health. Guess what? So can the hemp plant.

Restrictions with animal feed do not currently allow for hemp to be added to dog and cat food in the United States. Why not? It’s not like hemp ever killed anyone, and my dog and I both agree, we would rather eat hemp than a fly.

Is hemp oil better than fish oil for our pets?

We are in business for the same reason as our retail partners – our love of pets. That’s why we do what we do, right? You, us, store employees and owners – we all want the best for pets.

So what if we told you there is a better source of Omega 3 and Omega 6, than any corn oil, flaxseed oil, or fish oil products that are currently in the marketplace?

This source has absolutely no risk of containing heavy metals. There’s no risk of pesticides, and pets love the light nutty taste of it. That would pretty much make it the best dosage form animal product on the planet, right?

But wait, there’s more! The source of the product is one hundred percent sustainable, and will not decimate critical wildlife populations, like commercial fishing methods can. After all, why would any pet lover ever want to risk an animal’s life?

Hemp Well™ products will never get pets high and they are completely legal in all fifty states and available to ship to forty countries. Hemp Well hemp is grown by some of the world’s best cultivators, and the company holds itself to the highest standards. We avoid preservatives and never use heat or chemicals to make our products.

We have sourced and marketed hemp responsibly since 2010, and have been at the forefront of the hemp industry in the United States.

Our team has worked through the FDA, several medical doctors and labs, National Institutes of Health members, the National Animal Supplement Council, lawyers, and even the US Trademark office to ensure that our products are compliant and that pets are safe.

Lead poisoning can affect our pets, too

A few years ago, and in many major US cities, lead contamination problems tainted Flint, Michigan water supply for thousands of residents.

Children are especially vulnerable to the effects of lead poisoning, which can severely affect mental and physical development, and may even be fatal. According to the CDC, no safe blood level of lead has been identified in children.

Animals are also susceptible to the effects of lead poisoning, which mainly affects the gastrointestinal tract and central nervous system. Signs of lead poisoning in dogs and cats include anorexia, vomiting, painful abdomen, constipation, diarrhea, seizures, stumbling, tremors, and lethargy.

Lead toxicity affects the body’s ability to produce anti-oxidants, which are essential for protecting against reactive oxygen species.

Hemp oil contains powerful antioxidants, and may provide some protection against damage caused by environmental toxins like lead poisoning.

You do your part for the environment

Hemp has several applications and the ability to change the world. We do our part by manufacturing hemp supplements to promote health and advance hemp production. Hemp that can be used in other forms like building materials, our food and eventually replacing plastic.

Military dogs are non-commissioned (only because they are not able to attend college) and assigned the rank of one stripe higher than their handler. This is out of respect for the dog.

As a Veteran owned company, Hemp Well has worked with several organizations and non-profits in support of our Veteran dogs. By providing our products for free these dogs and their parents are living happier lives.

All online sales on November 11, 2019 (Veteran’s Day) will be donated to Veteran dogs!

Hemp, what is it good for? (besides CBD)

Hemp derived CBD is everywhere. It is in our supplements and our pets too, and for good reason. The myriad of benefits to health from Cannabidiol or CBD use is proven. But what else can hemp deliver?

Hemp delivers the optimal ration of Omega 3 to Omega 6 fatty acids. All mammals need inflammation (omega 6) and deflammation (omega 3) and in the ideal ratio. Unlike cannabinoids, our bodies do not produce fatty acids, they must be derived from our diet (or supplements)

Better than other oils, hemp (cannabis) has the optimal ratio of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids.

Alternatives to Declawing Your Cat

Cats can be finicky about their claws. Some hate having their tiny toes touched so it can be very hard to maintain their nails. Cats use their claws for many things, such as defending themselves when necessary, killing prey, digging holes, climbing trees and other high places to get away from predators. They can also use them for unwanted things in the home, such as clawing up furniture, carpet, curtains and other things. You may be wondering what a good alternative to declawing cats may be and what could make maintaining their claws easier for you and them.

Should I Declaw?

The declawing of cats can be a highly debated subject. Many people believe declawing is inhumane and cruel, while others believe it is necessary to keep cats inside. Many landlords do not allow a cat inside an apartment unit if they are not declawed and may even ask for proof.

There are health risks to declawing your cat. They could get an infection from going into the litter box after surgery. Their claws might possibly grow back if the surgery is not preformed properly. They may move or walk differently than before and could be in constant pain.

What is Declawing?

When you take your kitty to get declawed the doctors will remove the first knuckle in their fingers. This is equivalent to cutting off your fingertips at the first finger joint. This will prevent the nail from growing back in most cases.

Alternatives to Declawing

Instead of declawing your cat you can look for alternatives such as nail caps. These can come in many different colors and can be a fun alternative to declawing. Another alternative is clipping their nails frequently. This may be difficult for some cat parents since many cats do not like to have their nails touched.

Ways to Make Nail Care Easier

  • Take brakes as needed. This can be between paws or between claws.
  • Give lots of treats while trimming.
  • Wrap the kitty in a towel or blanket. Make sure it’s not too tight and only have one paw out at a time.
  • Make sure it is quiet and your cat is calm when trimming.
  • Get them used to you touching their paws. You can do this by rewarding them with treats the more they let you touch them.
  • Get them used to the feeling when they are young. If you have a kitten make sure to start cutting their nails young so it’s something they are accustomed to.
  • Play with your cat to tire them out a bit.
  • Always make sure to look out for the quick of the nail when trimming. This is the soft pink nail bed inside their nail.
  • If you are not comfortable cutting your cats nails, you can always take them to a groomer.

All in all, it is very important that your kitty is comfortable and not scared. If your cat is always scared when it comes trimming time, they will continue to associate trimming with fear. Give lots of pets and treats when trimming to make sure they are happy.

Keep Your Pet Calm This Halloween

Halloween can be a very frightening day of year for your pets and not in the fun-scarey-way. The noises, children, and costumes may be too much for your best friend. Some things you might consider this Halloween to minimize their stress.

  1. Just because you like to dress up doesn’t mean they will. If your furry friend doesn’t want to dress up as a princess, don’t force her.
  2. Are you dressing up? Your pet knows your smell but will often need to be reminded that it is you behind that mask. It can be confusing for them, so take off the mask throughout the night and remind them it’s really you.
  3. Let them hand out the first of the candy so they understand what is going on. If it is too much, consider a comfortable room away from the trick-or-treater action and leave the TV or radio on to mask the new noises.
  4. Consider boarding. While we all want to enjoy every holiday with our pets sometimes that is not possible. Maybe a friend, family member or local boarder can take over for a few hours, or the entire night.
  5. Calming supplements like Hemp Well’s organic line of calm products may help to take the edge off and turn a stressful experience into a lasting memory and annual tradition.
