The debate on CBD oil for dogs is ongoing. Right now we do not have all that much scientific data on the potential side effects of CBD oil for dogs. What we do know is that CBD may have the potential to:
- Dry mouth: CBD can decrease the production of saliva. Dogs may drink more water than usual.
- Studies have shown that a CBD high (through either smoking, or orally ingestion) dramatically reduces blood pressure in humans.
- The calming effect of CBD may cause slight drowsiness, especially when used in large doses.
The most common side effects of CBD are mild and include drowsiness, dry mouth, and upset stomach. More serious side effects are rare, but they can include liver damage, interaction with other medications, and allergic reactions.
