Help With Screaming and Feather Plucking in Birds

Aggressive behavior and feather plucking in birds is a major health concern and often the byproduct of one or more health issues. While few products on the market have shown to counteract the myriad of reasons for this condition, cannabinoids (CBD) and the fatty acids contained within the hemp plant could provide the most protection for birds.

Omega fatty acids, when added to the diet, has shown to be successful in reducing feather plucking. Hemp Well has the perfect ratio of Omega-3 to Omega-6 fatty acids compared to other oils like flaxseed, corn, fish and vegetable. Omega 3 & Preventing Atherosclerosis In Birds

Atherosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries, is fairly common in captive birds. Factors that have been linked to the development of atherosclerosis in pet birds include long term diets high in fat or cholesterol and/or lack of exercise. Omega-3 fatty acids, play an important role in the prevention of atherosclerosis by inhibiting inflammation within the blood vessels, reducing plaque formation and by other means that protect the vessels.

“Birds and humans have similar brain wiring”

A researcher from Imperial College London and his colleagues have developed for the first time a map of a typical bird brain, showing how different regions are connected together to process information.

About Hemp Well

The Cannabinoids and Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids found within Hemp Well™ have shown to curb stiffness, decrease inflammation, and help with everyday activities. It can also improve temperament, trainability and lead to a healthier coat.

How are the drops administered to birds?

Orally. Feed Hemp Well to your bird directly from our plastic eye dropper, or add it to their favorite treats.

Topically. Feather plucking can be the result of dry skin or other allergens. Apply Hemp Well topically to each affected area.

Any case studies on effectiveness?

There are no known studies regarding the effectiveness of hemp in bird health, however, there are several studies from the National Institutes of Health about the efficacy of hemp in the treatment of several conditions in both human and mice subjects.

Mice and birds are similar, physiologically, and both have an endocannabinoid system. Certain correlations can be made from studies using mice and the efficacy in birds.
